Newcomb College Art Pottery transitional floral vase 1911 S Irvine arts & crafts

Newcomb College Pottery stylized floral vase in their transitional matte blue green glazes. The Art Nouveau/Arts & Crafts design conforms beautifully with the bottle shape. Very well carved with good contrast and color, it is in excellent condition with only a tiny flake at the foot possibly in the making, and no chips, cracks, repairs, or firing flaws. It measures 6 inches tall and 4 1/8 inches in diameter at the widest.

Marked with the firm's die-stamped NC mark, SI for decorator Sadie Irvine, JM for the potter Joseph Meyer, and date code EW52 for 1911.
