Vintage Bauer Pottery Oil Jar Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage Bauer pottery oil jar. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This floor vase has a glossy, light blue glaze with fine, dark speckled. The pot is approximately 15 3/4 inches tall, with a maximum width of about 11 1/4 inches.
The pot weighs 17 pounds 1.4 ounces, unpacked. This garden pot would be an excellent addition to a collection of vintage California pottery.
Identification This vintage Bauer vase was made in Los Angeles, California. It is marked beneath, Bauer Pottery Co. Condition The oil jar looks very good overall, as shown. It has no cracks and it has light wear overall. It is still nice and shiny.
A previous owner drilled three small drainage holes in the bottom, as shown. The holes appear neatly drilled from the exterior, but you can see chipping around the holes if you look down inside the vase.
There are a few very small, scattered flakes around the bottom edges of the vase, as found; the largest measures about 1/8 inch by 3/16 inch (shown in Photo 5). As made, there are some small glaze skips (on the rim and elsewhere), tiny glaze dimples, minor indents, drips, and thicker and thinner glaze application areas.Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made.
