Vtg. MCM studio art pottery signed jar

  
The jar is maybe brown/red clay; not sure. If it was red clay painted over with brown, etc... The jar is five footed at bottom and is semi cylindrical. There is a thick rim bottom opening, cylindrical like outer side. It has a horizontal incised design with a variety of holes; some are ovalesque, some circular. Size and shape may very. Interesting aspect of vase through the holes; you see a center piece so there is a hollow space between outer and inner wall. Yet, looking down at piece, you would think it's al solid. The underside has a carved like signature.

The lid is circular with a square finial. Underneath lid has a raised lip for jar opening top. The lid has an edged border of incised line design. Cool piece, good condition, no chips/cracks. May have surface wear, ground in surface dirt due to age/use.

Areas of wear may be on top of the bottom piece on roim; shows white spots, cannot explain. Some of the feet have white chalkiness, lighter shades to them. One of the feet on underside has white blobbiness underneath; I left alone. There are circle felt pads on underside. Some white scuffing on side of feet. Measures 11" X 7.5" X 3.75 opening.
